GEM offers one fully comprehensive breakdown recovery service, with two options. Both options are for personal breakdown cover which means we cover you driving any car...
If you break down more than ¼ mile from your home we will carry out emergency repairs to get you moving, or tow you to any one UK destination of your choice.
We'll take you, your vehicle and up to seven passengers to any one UK destination of your choice.
If your car won't start or breaks down at/or within ¼ mile of your home, we will either repair it there or take it to the nearest garage. (Our Recovery RECLAIM product is subject to a claim limit of £70, current average claim for Home assistance is £52.70)
If you break down more than 25 miles from home and repairs can't be carried out that day, we can assist with onward travel or overnight accommodation up to the value of £200.
To arrange European breakdown Cover, GEM have teamed up with travel insurance specialists P J Hayman to bring you Euro Plus: a discounted European Breakdown Cover and Personal Travel insurance.

With RECLAIM, you pay for your repair or recovery yourself and reclaim the appropriate costs from us afterwards.You can call our Rescue Control Centre, or make your own arrangements if you use a specialist garage or want to use your preferred mechanic.
GEM Motoring Assist's free mobile app has been developed to give our members extra peace of mind. This has been developed for you, the member, to ensure that if you break down you can tell us exactly where you are.
Just to say thank you for the prompt, efficient and seamless service I have received from you. Returning to a deserted, remote car park at a snow-bound UK airport after a week in sunny Spain to find that my car wouldn't start was a bit of a blow to say the least but thanks to you I was on the road well within the hour. So very well done; first class service and should I ever have to call on you again – and no offence but I sincerely hope I don't, at least I will know I am in safe hands. Thank you.
